Home of three dance companies, two orchestras and a host of choreographers, composers, costume designers, backdrop artists and artistic staff, Shen Yun Performing Arts is the country’s premiere Chinese dance and music company. Their lives shows incorporate a myriad of different artistic elements to provide audiences with an awe-inspiring presentation that is simultaneously entertaining and educational. On January 8–10, 2010 Boston will get an opportunity to witness this grand spectacle as Shen Yun Performing Arts, as presented by the Falun Dafa Association of New England come to the Boston Opera House.
Four performances will be given over the three-day span and audiences are in for an experience, as the Shen Yun dancers deliver aerobatic feats and graceful movement complete with high-flying dives, dexterous leaps, and diverse spins. Chinese dance is a culturally rich tradition that has been passed down generationally over 5,000 years to not only preserve custom, but also to purvey to audiences the essence of a time, place or person.
