Xavier Ireland is a radio-show host with a devoted group of sleepless loners who call in throughout the night to seek his advice.

Off the air, he leads a low-key life avoiding his neighbors, playing Scrabble, and maintaining an awkward friendship with his co-host, Murray.

But his life begins to change when he meets Pippa a cleaning lady who becomes a constant presence in his life as he starts to face up to his past and discovering redemption in the most unexpected of places.

In the tradition of Nick Hornby and Roddy Doyle comes the US debut novel by Britian’s most popular stand up comedian, Mark Watson.
