The El Capitan Theatre Presents Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
The El Capitan Theatre, in Hollywood, has decided to not only spotlight the phenomenally successful Pirates of the Caribbean franchise on the eve of the fourth installment, but to literally bring it to life. With authentic props, costumes and prize giveaways, Walt Disney Pictures and El Capitan Theatre hope to provide the public with a hands-on experience that enhances Jerry Bruckheimer’s latest installment of the pirate adventure, Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides.
To kick off the event, El Capitan Theatre is offering an all-day Pirates of the Caribbean marathon starting Tuesday, May 19th at 9a.m. showing all three flicks leading to an early showing of the fourth installment. The event includes concessions and meals throughout the day and plans to award those true Pirates of the Caribbean fans with a one-of-a-kind experience that they can’t get anywhere else.
The fourth installment of the Pirates adventure picks back up with Johnny Depp in his epic pirate role of Captain Jack Sparrow bringing humor and excitement to the screen. In the new film, Captain Jack runs into two new characters, a lady pirate Angelica, played by Penélope Cruz and evil Captain Blackbeard, played by Ian McShane, adding more thrills to the already action-packed series. In search of the Fountain of Youth, Captain Jack finds himself battling Angelica, enchanting mermaids, and Blackbeard and his crew of zombies.
Along with watching Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides in stunning Disney Digital 3D™ and RealD™ 3D, guests will also receive a themed drawstring bag including two “Pieces of Eight” tribute coins sponsored by Goldline International. Designed exclusively for The El Capitan Theatre, the collectable alloy coins are mirror images of what coins would look like during the time-period of the movie. For those lucky guests, El Capitan and Goldline International will giveaway four authentic 18th century Mexican 8 Escudo gold coins priced around $2,000.
