A Valentine’s Day Tea

It’s seems that Victorian tea parties are all the rage these days, especially for Valentine’s Day. Maybe it’s the fact the Emily Blunt film, Young Victoria, is playing in theaters or perhaps because the Victorian era represents love and frill like no other.

The Victorian Tea Society and Heritage Museum of Orange County are teaming up to present “A Valentine’s Day Tea” on the morning of Saturday, February 13.

The tea will be held at the historic 1898 Kellogg House, where one can step back into a romantic period. The Kellogg House was designed by Hiram Clay Kellogg and was then built in 1898. After that, three generations of Kelloggs lived in this house before the family donated it to the Heritage Museum of Orange County.

Today the house maintains many of its authentic and historic features, such as a double parlor, oval dining room, kitchen, bath and bedrooms and many hands-on Victorian artifacts.

At the Valentine’s Day Tea, members of the Victorian Tea Society will be dressed in period attire and serving a delicious assortment of sweet and savory food along with scones and a selection of fine teas.

All proceeds from the tea will be used to benefit the children’s educational history programs offered by the Heritage Museum of Orange County.
