Update: Due to popular demand, Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre is extending its engagement of Disney’s Alice In Wonderland till April 20.

Alice in Wonderland, as a book, is already a whole different world. Through the eyes of director Tim Burton, it is even more so. In order to allow its audiences to fully experience the 3D fantasy adventure envisioned by both Charles Lutwidge Dodgson and Tim Burton, from March 5 to April 20, Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre welcomes viewers to walk into Wonderland, literally.

Sets and props from the actual film will transform the theatre into a magical world. Nicole Rivelli of the El Capitan Theatre invites audiences to “a truly magical and wondrous trip down the rabbit hole!”

Additional activities and treats for viewers will include Disney’s Soda Fountain and Studio Store, where there will be a special ““Wonderland” themed sundae, served in a collectable cup. There will be a different themed cup available each week of the engagement, so avid viewers and determined guests can actually collect all four.

The film itself will be presented in Disney Digital 3D™ from Disney. In addition to special midnight shows on opening weekend, daily show times are 10:00 am, 1:00 pm, 4:00pm, 7:00pm and 9:45pm.

Unfortunately for me, Mad Hatter Johnny Depp won’t actually be there to eat “Wonderland” sundaes with me and tell me about how it was to work again with Bellatrix Lestrange/Marla Singer, also known to the world as Helena Bonham Carter.

Tickets are available at the El Capitan Theatre (6838 Hollywood Blvd.), online at www.elcapitantickets.com, or by calling 1-800-DISNEY6.  Special group rates for parties of 20 or more are available by calling 1-818-845-3110. Showtimes subject to change.
