In Mike Birbiglia’s new book, Sleepwalking With Me, and Other Painfully True Stories, the comedian writes about break dancing, being the point guard from the Boston Celtics (or not being the point guard for the Celtics), urologists, receiving death threats and going to Steve Miller Band concerts—hence the Painfully True Stories part of the title. Last year, before Sleepwalking With Me was a New York Times bestselling memoir, it was an Off-Broadway play at the Bleecker Street Theater starring Nathan Lane. Birbiglia now has a lot to be happy for, urologists notwithstanding, which is what tonight’s event at Carolines is for. Along with some of his best friends, Birbiglia is celebrating the release of Sleepwalking With Me.
