Whitney Matheson over at Pop Candy today writes about one of my favorite story collections: Da Capo’s Best Music Writing 2010. It’s the perfect relatively quick read for anyone who truly loves music (and hates reading 2,000 word articles online), and although the book isn’t released until November 9, you can read some of the stories included online—again, if your eyes can handle it.
Here are some of our favorites:
-“A Very Dylan Christmas” by Chris Willman, New York
-“One on One with Maria Schneider” by Eugene Holley Jr., PMP
-“The Decade in Indie” by Nitsuh Abebe, Pitchfork
-“Living on the Radio” by Sasha Frere-Jones, the New Yorker
-“Michael Jackson: The Man In Our Mirror” by Greg Tate, Village Voice
A full list of articles can be found here, where you can also pre-order the book.
