Your Neighborhood Rock Review
The Knitting Factory Presents Your New Local Bands
Dead Heart Bloom
If you’re in the mood for some great, local rock, you’re in luck. The Neighborhood Rock Revue returns to the Knitting Factory (Brooklyn) with performances by the Fugitive Souls, Dead Heart Bloom, Low Water, Departures and The Strange Invaders.
Inaugurated in April, the Neighborhood Rock Revue has given some of New York’s finest bands an opportunity to perform at a venue that offers much more than the kind of place open to younger, undiscovered talent. In addition to the “fantastic sound, stage, and vibe of the room,” a performance at the Knitting Factory comes with a crowd and a reputation that can only be offered by such an outstanding concert hall. For unsigned, local bands there really is not a better feeling than taking the stage in front of a lively audience in a “world-class venue.” When performers take the stage for the Neighborhood Rock Revue, the energy put forth by the bands and the crowd makes for an incredible concert experience.
For undiscovered local talent, the showcase offers publicity that is important to making their names heard. In the noise of New York City, it’s so easy for smaller names to be passed over. By offering its stage to budding, local artists, the Knitting Factory is giving some much needed exposure to some homegrown hopefuls trying to make it in a big city. This week’s show boasts some particularly talented acts. If you haven’t heard their names, there’s no better time to experience the young performers making noise on in the New York Music scene.
If you can’t make the show this Saturday, don’t fret. The Neighborhood Rock Revue will go on “as long as there are great, local bands.” In a place like New York, you can expect the series to continue for quite a while.
