By fusing classical jazz beats with a contemporary approach to composition and lyrics, Spalding has succeeded in introducing a new generation to the world of jazz. The simplicity of her performances, during a time in which the manipulation of digital technology has replaced actual performance, has further proved her possession of natural talent, and her ability to transport her listeners into a state of pure bliss during her heart-felt and passionate performances. From the sultry Wild Is The Wind to the samba sassy I Know You Know, she effortlessly weaves her way back and forth between the various subgenre of jazz, and she continues to portray the beauty that exists in diversity and simplicity.

Since her Grammy win earlier this year for Best New Artist, she received a rather vast increase in popularity, however, she has stuck to her classical jazz roots, with the current goal of exploring “the space where Chamber jazz and Chamber Classical music intersect.”

She will be joined by fellow jazz artists Mike Stern, Terri Lynn Carrington, Bob Malach, and Lionel Cordew.
