A little off the beaten path from the usual music fare we post on Encore, but thought it worth experimenting and certainly this youthful band, Parts and Labor, is worth the mention.

Parts and Labor has been called “the best band nobody’s heard of.” They are a boisterous bunch of art kids hailing from Brooklyn that combine electronics, lean guitars and popular hooks into very cool experimental noise rock.

The band consists of  Dan Friel – keyboards, guitar, voice; B.J. Warshaw – bass, voice; Joe Wong – drums.

This January, Parts & Labor turns 10 years old. They’re planning a string of celebratory shows, in which they play selected material from all of their full length albums, leading up to a big 10th Anniversary blow out on February 24th, 2012. Following these performances, they’re going to take an extended hiatus.

As a token of their appreciation and esteem, they’re giving away a final song called No Nostalgia (featuring Todd Bailey and Where’s The Party At), which was recorded during the Receivers sessions.

As a token of Encore’s gratitude we’re giving a way a pair of tix to one of their last shows here.
