You could do much worse than having a Vulcan read your book. They always sound composed and won’t let their emotions, or lack there of, get in the way of the actual work. Remember that, Michael Cunningham, at tonight’s SoHo House performance of his “White Angel” by Zachary Quinto, along with Rick Moody’s “Modern Lovers” by Ben Foster and Sarah Paulson, sponsored by WordTheatre.
Quinto is best known for his role as Spock in the recent Star Trek reboot, and he’ll be reading selections from “White Angel,” which originally appeared in the New Yorker in 1988. Foster (The Messenger, Six Feet Under) and Paulson (Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Serenity) will do the same for “Modern Lovers,” Moody’s 20008 short story.
The performances begin at 7 p.m., and afterwards, both authors will be on-hand for a Q&A session. They’ll also be available to autograph copies of their books before and during intermission. To reserve tickets, please contact SoHo House (29 9th Ave.) at 212-627-9800.
Read long and prosper (sorry, couldn’t resist).
