The most anonymous box we could find

Hopefully this will turn out better than the Velvet Underground’s “The Gift”…
The creative minds at art.party.theater.company, led by playwright Mary Birnbaum, are putting an 8×8 box in Bryant Park this Friday which contains a “mystery star.” The Mylar-covered “Starbox” will be available for public viewing—but only after spectators sign a non-disclosure agreement—every Friday from July 23 to August 13, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
The whole thing is pretty brilliant: Birnbaum is directing 30 performers to, according to the Daily News, “play scripted agents, personal assistants and star-struck fans to build the hype. There will be a red carpet. And velvet ropes.” If you saw that many important looking hovering around something, wouldn’t you look too?
art.party.theater.company’s Twitter feed has been giving out hints of who the mystery celebrity(-ies?) is:
1. “Your mom knows who s/he is”
2. “JUST IN: The star has demanded BLUE M&Ms. BLUE.”
3. “The star has requested a dehumidifier for the #starbox.”
4. “#starbox speculators predict a high chance of a Tony inside of the #starbox, slimmer chance of an Oscar, excellent chance of someone slim.”
Here are our guesses:

James Gandolfini: One of the hints is for a “high chance of a Tony”…

James Franco: Maybe too obvious? Over the past year, Franco’s been all about the performance art.

The Naked Cowboy: It wouldn’t take long to get from Times Square to Bryant Park. Plus, everyone’s least favorite publicity stunt has a history with Blue M&M’s.

Betty White: Why not?

Tobias Funke: Blue M&Ms? Blue Man Group! Maybe this is all leading up to the announcement of the Arrested Development movie. That, or the person in the box is some boring D-grade celebrity.
