Cast members of some of Broadway’s biggest musicals come together for “Broadway Stands Up for Freedom,” which supports the youth programs of the New York Civil Liberties Union. The performances begin tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts.

The following performers are expected to attend: Nellie McKay (The Threepenny Opera), J. Robert Spencer (Next to Normal), Anthony Rapp (Rent), Daphne Rubin-Vega (Rent), Rebecca Luker (Mary Poppins), Kate Baldwin (Finian’s Rainbow), Bryce Ryness (Hair), De’Adre Aziza (Passing Strange), Kate Shindle (Legally Blonde), Johanna Day (August: Osage County), Carrie Manolakos (Mama Mia), Erich Bergen (Jersey Boys), Katie Thompson, Liana Stampur and Clinton Curtis and performers from the cast of Hair, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson and Liberty: The Musical.

The night’s host is Musical Director Seth Rudetsky, and Jen Bender will direct. Tony Kushner is the guest speaker and honorary chair. Tickets, which range from $60-$10,000, can be purchased here, and even if you can’t make it tonight, you can still donate to the NCYLU.
