Last night was the much-awaited National and Beach House show at the Prospect Park Bandshell. Both bands were at the peak of their ability, aided by the fact that, at least in the National’s case, they’re back home in Brooklyn. They weren’t even dismayed by their instruments having been mixed up with Leonard Cohen’s while the two were at a festival in Lisbon together. Two highlights: A slowed-down version of “Apartment Story” and “Geese of Beverly Road,” which even the band admitted has taken on extra meaning since, well, this. The show was dedicated to those poor gaggles of geese.
