You’ll never look at New York City the same way after experiencing The Ride.
This Thursday, August 12, at 10:30 a.m. will be the unveiling of The Ride, a traveling high-tech theater in Times Square (46th and Broadway, specifically, in front of the New York Marriott Marquis). Although The Ride doesn’t officially open until September 16, you can see what it looks in this special sneak preview.
Here’s what you should know:
- The Ride is a super-sized vehicle that will take Riders on a 4.2 mile route of midtown Manhattan, while a constantly changing show occurs all around them.
- There will be eight vehicles, each costing $1.3 million, with three rows of stadium seating for 49 passengers.
- The audio equipment is IMAX-worthy, and there will be 40 video screens with more than 3,000 LED lights.
- Performers on The Ride are mainly comedians, who will give a unique and hilarious tour of New York on each trip.
