With twelve albums under his belt, Chris Smither—appearing at the Rubin Museum’s K2 Lounge on May 15—is truly a veteran of the music industry. His elegant lyrics are arranged simply, mostly with only his own masterful finger picking and foot tapping as accompaniment. His music qualifies as folk, but a blues influences is undeniable. Associated Press comments, “Smither is an American original, a product of the musical melting pot, and one of the absolute best singer-songwriters in the world.”
His latest album, Leave the Light On, was released on his own record label.
