Rooftop Films has committed itself to excellence in independent films and bringing important film work to the forefront. Sometimes this commitment intersects with just plain old fun. Such is the case with Rooftop’s schedule for the last week in August. The documentary Best Worst Film is to be shown on July 31 on the lawn of Automotive High School in Williamsburg. The film, whose subject matter is Troll 2 (widely recognized as the worst movie of all time), explores the creative process of making and emotional course of grappling with making the worst film of all time. Directed by Michael Paul Stephenson, who starred in the film as a child, the film interviews the Italian director of the film and the Utah dentist who became its unwitting star, as well as its legions of fans. Both compassionate and comical, the documentary is a great look at what it is to be the worst.

The night before the showing, on Thursday July 30, Rooftop will show the actual worst movie ever, Troll 2, in the same location. As always, both showings will feature an open bar after the airing and the filmmaker will be on hand for a Q&A. To purchase tickets and for more information visit rooftopfilms.com.
