It’s official: celebrating Michael Jackson’s birthday in Prospect Park is a tradition.

Last year, Spike Lee hosted the August 29th event, on what would have been the King of Pop’s 51st birthday. And he’s doing it again (hence the tradition) this Sunday. Lee will be there, as will his 40 Acres and a Mule production crew, who are filming the festivities. DJ Spinna will provide the music (I wonder what they’ll play?) and expect appearances from some surprise guests.

The birthday bash happens this Sunday, August 29, from 12-5 p.m. at Prospect Park’s the Nethermead. For more information, including how to find the Nethermead, please click here.
