Usually when you think of arena rock, Def Leppard, Van Halen and KISS come to mind. But what about the ladies? Pat Benatar could definitely kick my ass, and I’ll bet she can take David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar too.

Tonight at Le Possion Rouge, Cathyland, who put “the arena back into rock by presenting tribute shows to artists and themes of the ‘80s,” are paying tribute to Benatar’s 1980 classic, Crimes of Passion.

Cathy Cervenka founded the self-titled Cathyland as a NYC rock collective performing classic ‘80s albums. Past events include Madonnathon, Power Ballad Party and a U2 tribute night. Cathyland is also the name of her band, who are heavily influenced by Journey, Rick Springfield and, of course, Benatar.

Also performing tonight is Pretty Babies covering Blondie’s Parallel Lines, followed by New York’s Finest putting their unique spin on Outlandos D’Amour, the debut album by the Police (y’know, when Sting was still cool).

Tickets for tonight’s 7.30 p.m. show at Le Poisson Rouge cost $12 and can be purchased here. If you’re not familiar with the three albums mentioned above, here’s a primer:
