We already knew Paul Reubens was going to star as Pee-wee Herman in The Pee-wee Herman Show (no one else could wear the red bow tie as well), but what about the rest of the cast? Now we’ve got our answer.
The musical will feature three performers reprising their roles from the original production at the Groundlings Theatre in 1981: John Moody (Pee-wee’s Playhouse) as Mailman Mike, John Paragon (Seinfeld) as Jambi the Genie and Lynne Marie Stewart (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) as Miss Yvonne.
The cast also includes Jesse Garcia (Quinceañera) as Sergio the Handyman and Phil LaMarr (Futurama) as Cowboy Curtis, and features Josh Meyers, Drew Powell, and Lance Roberts.
The Alex Timbers-directed Pee-wee Herman Show begins previews on October 26 with an official opening set for November 11. The musical will run until January 2, 2011 at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.
