Us city folk are often so busy working that we often forget to pause for a bit and help out those in need. That’s the inspiration behind “30 Deeds, 30 Days,” a project New York City Z100 radio personality Trey Morgan will embark on. For the month of September, Morgan will devote time to charity work while still maintaining his role at work and at home.

Encore will be following this impressive feat.

Since childhood, Morgan always wanted to find a way to do philanthropic work, but never got around to it. Feeling guilty that he never got to lend a hand, Morgan decided to do all the good deeds he’s always wanted to do—in a month. The concept behind that was to motivate him because of the time limit. “It’s going to be an exhausting but exhilarating and exciting experience,” Morgan says.

In addition to his fulfilling his long-time childhood dream of giving back, Morgan is also scouting for charities that he would want to support in the long run. “Learning about the organizations and meeting the people and seeing what they do,” Morgan says, “I think I’ll be able to figure out what direction I want to take my charitable time and volunteerism to.” He hopes to have a fresh outlook on life with the lessons and experience he gains from the project. Morgan also plans to write a book about his month of giving, with a portion of the proceeds donated to the organizations he works with during “30 Deeds 30 Days.”

Here is Morgan’s schedule for the first three days:

September 1: Help Habitat for Humanity build a house.
September 2: Help a local food bank, distribute food
September 3: Help the American Lung Association recruit for an upcoming event
