Beginning September 21, there will be a new Maria in Broadway’s West Side Story. Newcomer Sarah Amengual will take over for Josefina Scaglione to play the lover of Tony and sister of Bernardo. This will be Amengual’s first Broadway role, having just graduated from the University of Miami. Her previous theater experience include regional performances of Les Miserables (Eponine), Parade (Mary Phagan), Ruthless (Tina) and Rent (Mimi).
West Side Story plays Tuesday at 7 p.m.; Wednesday-Saturday, 8 p.m.; Wednesday and Saturday, 2 p.m.; and Sunday, 3 p.m., at the Palace Theatre. Tickets can be purchased here.
