At the very least, this will prove more interesting than Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. Tonight, September 8, and tomorrow, Galapagos Art Space (16 Main St., Brooklyn) is turning into The Rabbit Hole, a Wonderland-themed nightclub. There will be eight enslaved Alices, a red-rose loving Queen of Hearts and more mayhem in this interactive theatrical event, brought to us by the Box Full of Wasps theatre collective.

According to Artistic Director Jenna Lauren Freed, “Basically, the Queen decides she wants to show a new side of herself and opens this club and staffs it with a swarm of enslaved girls, whom she refers to all as Alice.” And if you’re wondering which version of Alice they’re basing things off of: “I actually haven’t seen the Tim Burton film, which is probably for the best since it’s also a completely different story from Lewis Carroll’s original. The entire cast read the book prior to beginning rehearsal and drew most of their inspirations for their characters from there. Of course, you can’t help but have the Disney movie—or any other number of Alice in Wonderland adaptations—in your head while you work. We welcome that. This piece is about creation, so different sources help.”

Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased here. Doors open at 7 p.m., with the fun beginning at 8 p.m.
