Just because Peter Jackson made Gollum look like this doesn’t mean you have to. New York Comic Con (which we’ll have a lot more about very soon) and CAMI Music are asking fans of The Lord of the Rings to “create a piece of art hearkening back to your favorite characters, locations, scenes, elements or themes” of the trilogy. And, presumably, The Hobbit.

You can use pen and paper, water colors, oils, chalk, inks and Photoshop. Just make sure to submit your entries before September 27 (full information of where and how to submit can be found here). The first place winner will receive two seats to the upcoming Lord of the Rings concert at Radio City Music Hall, two weekend passes to Comic Con, Doug Adam’s The Music of The Lord of The Rings Films book and a Two Tower poster signed by Howard Shore. There are also some pretty awesome prizes for second, third and fourth place winners.

And now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to watch this clip.
