Mary Murphy Joins Burn the Floor
Final leg of B’Way engagement gains star

Burn the Floor just got a whole lot hotter. The Broadway ballroom dance sensation that features Dancing with the Stars professional hoofers Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Kym Johnson has just announced that So You Think You Can Dance’s resident ballroom judge Mary Murphy will be joining Burn the Floor December 22–January 10. That’s right, Mary Murphy is stepping out of the judge’s seat and onto the dance floor, where audiences will get to see her show why she is one of the nation’s most accomplished ballroom experts.
Burn the Floor opened this summer at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street) to critical and audience success. Its end at the Longacre on Broadway has just been announced—January 10, 2010—to make room for the Burn the Floor world tour! Speaking for the show, producer Harley Medcalf said, “On behalf of the entire Burn the Floor family, we want to thank Broadway for an amazing run and generous critical and popular reception. We are thrilled and proud to have broken the Longacre Theatre’s box office record and are pleased to announce that the World Tour begins late February 2010, including 30 U.S. cities.”
Along with Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Kym Johnson and Mary Murphy, the cast of Burn the Floor includes award-winning international dancers from around the world including Latin and Ballroom champions.
