The glitzy seven day long celebration of fashion is in full effect, and yesterday marked the first day of Nolcha Fashion Week: New York, showcasing designers’ Spring Season 2011 Collection that NYC is hosting. As promised, we are bringing you the latest and hottest updates straight from the runway.
Held at the posh former AT&T building at 195 Broadway, the building’s grand Grecian-inspired architecture was a terrific venue for the electrifying fashion showcase. The runway shows commenced shortly after 1 p.m. with Elizabeth Kosich.
Kosich’s models worked the catwalk as Jay-Z’s “Empire State of Mind” blasted through the speakers. Her 2011 Spring Collection showcased metallic shimmering bikinis accompanied by silky bright cover-ups. Her collection is perfect for a spring break vacation.
Following Elizabeth Kosich was N Kwon. Her 2011 collection features comfortable fabrics with edgy cuts, subtle draping and pleating. Her colors are neutral with the occasional pop of a shade of blue and green but not quite aqua green (lighter than cerulean blue). The collection is something that the ladies can wear with an easy transformation from day to evening.
The very chic Katrin Liranzo paraded her femme fatale sexy and plush cocktail dresses. This was my favorite of the day. Her collection is very simple but it has just the right touch of dazzle and intricate details that makes it my choice for a fun night out with the girls. This collection is reminiscent of what Gwyneth Paltrow or Jennifer Aniston would wear.
From leg-showing dresses to long, formal gowns, we move onto Ola Style. Ola Hawatmeh’s designs are bold, loud, vibrant, colorful and sexy. Her gowns are worthy of a grand entrance, fit for a daring royal.
Make sure to check out Encore tomorrow as the tres chic fashion extravaganza continues tomorrow with the Ethical Fashion Preview and Exhibition, and runway shows from Luxxe, Alice Yim, Mark Patito, Vivienne Pash, Semprelei, Ethical Collective, Dora Abodi, Paul Aarington, Stella Simona and Kabukiu.
