Denis Leary and Peter Frampton to perform for Road Recovery

John Varvatos and Road Recovery have one very big thing in common—the ultra-cool menswear giant and the charity dedicated to helping guide young people on their road to recovery are both equally as passionate about music as they are about their missions at hand. John Varvatos’ work and retail spaces incorporate elements of rock ’n’ roll, with guitars selling alongside divinely tailored suits. Road Recovery is dedicated to employing the help of those in the entertainment industry (largely musicians) who have gone through similar struggles to aid in the fight for sobriety. The two—and their shared love of music—will come together January 7, 2010 as John Varvatos hosts the Road Recovery Benefit featuring performances by Peter Frampton and Denis Leary, featuring The Enablers.
The performance will take place as part of John Varvatos’ Thursday Night Live concert series held at the John Varvatos Bowery NYC Store, the space that formerly housed the legendary music club CBGB’s. Emceed by 101.9-FM’s famed headliner Matt Pinfield and his radio partner Leslie Fram, the benefit will certainly be a night to remember for the performing arts and a great charity.
Road Recovery is an NYC-based charity, established in 1998 with the mission to help young people battle addiction and other adversities. It uses the help of entertainment industry professionals and celebrities who have confronted similar crises (Denis Leary, James Hetfield, Joan Jett, Slash, Ozzy Osbourne) to champion the cause and act as mentors to young people fighting addiction.
Headlining the January 7 concert are Peter Frampton and Dennis Leary, as well as The Enablers. Frampton is a Grammy-Award winning artist who has sold over six million albums and Leary is the star of FX’s Emmy-nominated Rescue Me. These two accomplished musicians will play together for the first time. Of the benefit, John Varvatos said, “Road to Recovery has been a pioneer and leading force in helping raise funds and awareness for drug and alcohol addiction. We are honored to have Peter Frampton and Dennis Leary perform and to be a part of such a great cause. We have had some great performers on our Bowery stage and this event also promises to be truly amazing!”
