Before you dismiss the idea of a “funny Canadian comic,” remember that Seth Rogen, Martin Short, Jim Carrey, Will Arnett and Dave Foley all hail from our neighbor to the North, not to mention the comic geniuses that were John Candy and Phil Hartman. Be sure to add the Vancouver-born Glenn Wool to that list too.

Wool’s material ranges from Jewish Heaven to refusing to swear, from political to goofy. He’s performed at festivals like Glastonbury and Bestival, and has made TV appearances on Never Mind the Buzzcocks, The BBC Stand Up Show and The World Stands Up. Recently, at the Sydney Comedy Festival, he was named Best of the Fest.

Wool is performing tonight, Sept. 16, at Comix at 7:30 p.m. Tickets, which can be purchased here, cost $20, but if you use the promotion code “WOOL,” you’ll save $5. That’s probably $5.04 in Canadian dollars! Wool will also appear in the Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival on Saturday, Sept. 18, at the Bell House. More information can be found here.
