Which Baseball Stadium Has the Best Movie Scenes?

When Ben Affleck makes a film about Boston, you know there’s going to be at least one scene sit in or around Fenway Park. In The Town, much of the film’s final 30 minutes take place inside the bowels of Fenway, in places that not even Manny Ramirez visited (and that guy knows his way around the ballpark).

But because we’re New York based and must make everything a competition with Boston, let’s figure out which stadium has had the best movies filmed in it. Let’s also throw in the Mets, just for laughs. Note: we’re referring to the old ballparks for both the Yankees and Mets, a.k.a. original Yankee Stadium and Shea Stadium, and just picking five films for each stadium.

Yankee Stadium
Bang the Drum Slowly
Big
For Love of the Game
The Pride of the Yankees
Zelig

Fenway Park
Field of Dreams
Fever Pitch
Blown Away
Little Big League
Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde

Shea Stadium
Two Weeks Notice
Men in Black
The Rutles
The Wiz
Bang the Drum Slowly

The winner: It pains me to say it, but once again, the Yankees win, followed by Shea Stadium then Fenway. While Field of Dreams is a great film, it’s tough to look past Legally Blonde 2, which is somehow even worse than The Wiz. Yankee Stadium has had more film time than either Shea and Fenway (and probably more than any other stadium, for that matter) including a not-so-memorable scene from Anger Management.

They’re all losers compared to Dodger Stadium and Naked Gun, though.
