With the dance excitement of Riverdance and the musical fun of an all-female singing group, Celtic Woman brings the best of Celtic music and culture to stages all around the world. February 26 and 27, 2010 Celtic Woman will perform at Radio City Music Hall in New York City for a two-show extravaganza with their brand-new North American tour: Songs From the Heart. The new tour is in support of their new CD/DVD release of the same title, Songs from the Heart, available on January 26, 2010.
Conceived and assembled in 2004 by David Downes, a former Musical Director of the Irish stage show Riverdance, Celtic Woman is an assemblage of women in varied musical capacities. Current members include Chloë Agnew, Lynn Hilary, Lisa Kelly, Máiréad Nesbitt and Alex Sharpe. And the group is as tight-knit off the stage as it is on. Of the group, member Chloë Agnew has said, “I think people are always looking for a ’Desperate Housewives’ story, that they all hate each other and nobody actually gets along. It’s all for show. And the truth of the matter is, it’s not. The reality is we do all get along. The five of us are like sisters, best friends.” After a number of world tours and over 50 million albums sold, Celtic Woman is one of the most successful musical groups in the world.
The shows at Radio City Music Hall will take place February 26 and 27, 2010. Tickets are on sale now and can be found online at www.radiocity.com or www.ticketmaster.com or by calling Ticketmaster at 1-866-858-0008. For more information on Celtic Woman, please visit www.celticwoman.com.
