Monday, September 27
Teenage Fanclub
Bowery Ballroom, 7 p.m.

You have three opportunities to catch Teenage Fanclub this week: tonight with the Radar Brothers, tomorrow at the Bowery with both the Radar Brothers and the Clean (New Zealand’s finest rock ‘n’ roll band), and Thursday when they open for Belle & Sebastian at the Waterfront. Be there for at least one of them, even if you’re still struggling to understand why SPIN ranked Bandwagonesque (a great album) over Nevermind (a greater album) as the best album of 1991. $25

Tuesday, September 28
Deerhunter
Apple Store SoHo, 7 p.m.

The Atlanta-based dreamy punk band will perform songs from their new album, Halycon Digest, coincidentally released today.

Wednesday, September 29
Best Coast
Bowery Ballroom, 8 p.m.

We chose this as one of the 10 concerts to see in September, so, yeah, see it and enjoy the pop music greatness that is “Boyfriend.” $15

Friday, October 1
Foals
Bowery Ballroom, 8 p.m.

I never really got into Foals’ debut album, Antidotes, thinking it too dance-y and not enough post-punk-y. But all wrongs were righted with Total Life Forever, released in May of this year. It’s equal parts nervous and intense—and pretty great, too. $17

Thursday, September 30
The Gaslight Anthem
Radio City Music Hall, 8 p.m.

An odd venue choice for the Anthem a.k.a., 21st Century Springsteen, but “Great Expectations” sounds good anywhere. $35

Saturday, October 2
The xx
United Palace Theatre, 7 p.m.

Recent winners of the Mercury Prize, the xx have been touring behind their self-titled debut, which appeared on many year-end lists, since mid-2009. Vocalists Romy Madley Croft and Oliver Sim sound like two shy teenagers, backed by a heartbeat drum machine and subtle guitars and keyboards. The xx rarely sound louder than a whisper, but they’ve certainly been making a lot of noise lately. $35-$45.30

Sunday, October 3
Yo Gabba Gabba!
Radio City Music Hall, 11 a.m./2 p.m./5 p.m.

Kids stuff? Hardly. The greatest show meant for children/better for adults on TV today has had appearances from Sarah Silverman, Snoop Dogg, the Roots, the Aquabats and Devendra Banhart during their live tour. Plus, DJ Lance Rock is kind of the shit. $40-$75
