Billie Joe Armstrong will step into the lead role of St. Jimmy in American Idiot for eight shows, from Sept. 27-Oct. 3. Armstrong, of course, is the lead singer of Green Day and who, along with Tre Cool and Mike Dirnt, wrote all the songs that appear in the musical. He’s replacing Tony Vincent, who will resume performances on Oct. 12; between Oct. 5-10, Vincent’s understudies, Joshua Kobak and Andrew Call, will take over.

Maybe the real life ABBA will appear in Mamma Mia! soon? Or Andrew Jackson in Bloody, Bloody?
