Duo Rodrigo y Gabriela
The road to success has led Rodrigo y Gabriela all over the world. The guitar duo comprised of Rodrigo Sánchez and Gabriela Quintero met in Mexico City, gained fame in Europe and have come to the states to share their uniquely infectious performance style and unparalleled guitar skills with audiences at Radio City Music Hall. On Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 8 PM MSG Entertainment and The Bowery Presents will welcome Rodrigo y Gabriela to New York City for a one night performance.
The duo, known for their fast and furious acoustic guitar playing, met while playing together in a thrash metal band in Mexico City but soon found themselves limited by the musical scene in their native country. After relocating to Dublin, they gained a cult following as listeners couldn’t help but be taken in by their electric style and instrumental skills. Since then, the duo as released six albums, finding international success with 2006’s self-titled release Rodrigo y Gabriela which charted at #1 in the national charts. Their latest album is entitled 11:11 and cements their status as guitar gods.
