Producers announced yesterday that Catch Me If You Can, a musical based on a film based on a book, will open on April 10, 2011 at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 W. 52nd St.). Previews begin March 7. While we don’t know the cast yet (still pulling for Walken), we do know the music is by Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Scott Wittman and Shaiman, choreography by Jerry Mitchell and directed by Jack O’Brien.

Personally, I can’t wait for all the “catch while you can!” puns when the musical does open, so we decided to take the plunge early with our current headline.
