Living in New York, we often take promiscuity for granted, largely because of the sex shops on seemingly every corner; when sex is all around us—especially with signs like “Nude Peep Show!”—we become immune to it. The glory of burlesque, and specifically the Eighth Annual New York Burlesque Festival, is that you don’t see everything. It’s slow, seductive and, occasionally, funny. Plus the stage names are awesome. Below are the five people we believe should win the coveted Golden Pastie for the “Most Fitting and Fabulous Stage Name” (apologies that we had to leave Honey Touche off):
#5. Trixie Little and the Evil Hate Monkey

Demoted if it’s actually a Family Guy reference.
#4. Clara Cupcakes

Only because she’s from Australia.
#3. Questlove

Oh wait, he’s only DJ’ing…
#2. Legs Malone

Working in the fine tradition of Boobs McGee, Hooty McBoob…
#1. Leroi the Girl Boi

Best of both worlds.
