Although I own every Bob Dylan album (including Dylan and Empire Burlesque), know every lyric (to the kid who bet me $10 I didn’t know the words to “Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts”: ha!) and even once wrote a term paper on his “I Dreamed I St. Augustine”, I still haven’t seen him live.
Well, I’ve been to three of his concerts (New York City Center, Bethel Woods Center for Performing Arts and Prospect Park), but I’ve always been so far that it’s like I was barely there. So that’s what I’m so excited for Dylan’s three shows at Terminal 5 in November. It’s a small venue where you can get right up to the stage, and considering Dylan’s been touring with basically the same set list for the past year (does anyone really want to hear “Jolene”?), that’s a good reason to see a concert that might otherwise not have been worth it at, say, Roseland Ballroom.
Bob Dylan & and His Band play Terminal 5 on November 22, 23 and 24. Tickets, which can be purchased here, go on-sale today at 10 a.m.
