This weekend, from Oct. 8-10, is New York Comic Con (NYCC). There will be appearances from Stan Lee and John Romita, Sr.; autographs signed by Katee Sackhoff, Tricia Helfer and James Marsters; and hundreds of artists talking about their latest comic books and graphic novels.

Below are five events from each day that you should make sure to attend:

Friday, October 8

Will Eisner’s New York
2-3 p.m., Room 1A14

An all-star panel—including David Hajdu, Paul Levitz and Denis Kitchen—talks about the impact Will Eisner had and still has in the comics world.

How to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse
2:15-3:15 p.m., Room 1A23

The panel name really says it all.

Remembering Harvey Pekar
4:30-5:30 p.m., Room 1A22

Earlier this year, the great Harvey Pekar passed away. Friday’s panel at NYCC celebrates the life of the American Splendor creator, with special guests Jeff Newelt, Dean Haspiel, Peter Kuper, Rick Parker and Joseph Remnant, all of whom either worked or were friends with Pekar. The event will be moderated by Danny Fingeroth, who wrote about Pekar in The Rough Guide to Graphic Novels.

Masterpiece and the BBC present the U.S. Premiere of Sherlock
8-10 p.m., Room 1A06

Created by Doctor Who‘s Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, Sherlock brings the famous detective (played by Atonement‘s Benedict Cumberbatch) and Watson (The Office‘s Martin Freeman) into the 21st century. With that pedigree, it’s no wonder the series received such great reviews with it aired in the U.K. over the summer. Tonight is the U.S. premiere, and the entire season one will appear on DVD on November 9.

James Marsters Spotlight
8:45-9:45 p.m., Room 1A08

Time spent with the man who played Spike on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Joss Whedon, and also appeared in Caprica? The perfect way to end day one.

Saturday, October 9

Corey Feldman Offers a Glimpse of Lost Boys: The Thirst
10:45-11:45 a.m., Room 1A14

There probably are better ways to spend your time, but how many people can say they spent an hour in a room with Corey Feldman? He’ll be talking about the upcoming film, Lost Boys: The Thirst. Yes, it exists.

The Science of Battlestar Galactica
10:45-11:45 a.m., Room 1A24

Patrick Di Justo and Kevin Grazier, authors of The Science of Battlestar Galactica, and Richard Hatch, who appeared on both the original and remake of the great show, will answer questions about the science of the BSG universe. Considering Grazier works at NASA and Di Justo is a contribuing editor for Wired, they know what they’re talking about. Plus, Hatch played a character on a show set in space, so that counts for something.

It’s Butters: An Evening of Chaos!
8:15-8:45 p.m., Room 1A06

Considering I’ve got a guinea pig named after South Park‘s Leopold “Butters” Stotch, I’m pretty excited for this event. There will be games and prizes, and on NYCC’s website, it says, “That’s all we can say for now.” How cryptic—and chaos inducing.

Graphic Novel Roundtable
8:45-9:45 p.m., Room 1A22

Join some of the most acclaimed graphic novel creators in this roundtable discussion.

Roddenberry is Back!
9-10 p.m., Room 1A23

Gene Rodenberry’s son, Eugene “Rod” Roddenberry, Jr., will discuss all things Star Trek, along with Trevor Roth and Tory Mell, who both work for Rodenberry Productions.

Sunday, October 10

DC Nation: Town Hall Meeting
10:45-11:45 a.m., Room 1A06

DC co-publishers Dan DiDio and Jim Lee will host a relaxed Sunday morning discussion. Share your thoughts on what you love about comics now and what you hope to see in the future.

Marvel: The Women of Marvel
10:45-11:45 a.m., Room 1A14

If you’re more Marvel than DC, be here instead, where women from “every discipline in the creative process of Marvel,” including Marjorie Liu, Jelena Kevic-Djurdjevic, Sonia Oback and Stephanie Hans.

Castles, Forests and Bath Houses: The Worlds of Hayao Miyazaki
11 a.m.-12 p.m., Room 1E13

An exploration of the worlds and the unique people that inhabit Miyazaki’s works, hopefully including appearances from Ponyo and Totoro.

MTV Presents “Unbreakable: Ten Years Later” with M. Night Shyamalan
12:45-1:45 p.m., IGN Theater

The must-see event of NYCC. The thing I’m most interested in: will people boo Shyamalan for his beyond horrible The Last Airbender? Either way, he’ll be speaking with MTV News’ Josh Horowitz and will probably have some pretty interesting stories about the underrated Unbreakable.

Bruce Campbell Spotlight
4-5 p.m., Room 1A08

Evil Dead. Evil Dead 2. Spider-Man. Bubba Ho-Tep. My Name is Bruce. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Campbell has been in all of them, and on Sunday, he’ll be at NYCC in a spotlight panel.

Tickets for NYCC, which can be purchased here, cost $65 for a weekend pass
