The Winners at the Hamptons International Film Festival Are…

It was not this movie (we just love the photo)

Audience Award Narrative: The King’s Speech

Audience Award Documentary: Love, Etc.

Narrative Jury Winner: Mamas and Papas

Documentary Jury Winner: Circo

Conflict and Resolution Jury Winner: My So-Called Enemy

Short Film Winner: New Media

Investigation Discovery Award for Excellence in Journalism: The House of Suh

Victor Rabinowitz and Joanne Grant Award for Social Justice Award: No Tomorrow

What does all this mean? Well, The King’s Speech may have just pulled ahead of The Social Network as the frontrunner for Best Picture at this year’s Academy Awards. So far, it’s neck and neck between the two, with Black Swan and 127 Hours trailing slightly behind. The profile of Love, Etc., a documentary about five New York City stories, also rises, and although the plot sounds a little cliched, clearly the crowd liked it.
