It’s David Mamet’s New York
And we’re just living in it

Get ready for lots of Mamet over the next few days, not that that’s a bad thing. He’s one of Encore‘s favorite playwrights, which is why we’re so excited for him to be speaking at one of our writer’s former universities, The New School, tomorrow at 7 p.m. Mamet will be talking about (oddly) his film career, including The Verdict, The Untouchables and, of course, Glengarry Glen Ross. But considering his A Life in the Theatre, starring Patrick Stewart and T.R. Knight, opens today at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, I’m sure he’ll be talking about that, too. Any reason to discuss Sir Patrick Stewart is a good one.
