You’re Not a Real New Yorker Until You’ve…
At least according to How I Met Your Mother

In Monday’s episode of How I Met Your Mother (blame our DVR for not posting this until now), Robin gets super excited when Marshall receives a text message from a friend saying, “Woody Allen is sitting in a table two tables over.” She wants to meet Woody, but the rest of the gang, Marshall included, is dismissive, saying they’ve already seen Woody so many times that there’s no point. Robin, on the other hand, being Canadian and all, has never seen in him person, and from there, we get our Seinfeld-ian episode.
Each character says, “You’re not a real New Yorker until you’ve…”
-Seen Woody Allen
-Stolen a cab from someone who needs it more than you do
-Cried on the subway and not given a damn
-Killed a cockroach with your bare hands
A real New Yorker would also know that the subway’s faster than a cab. Or is the bus quicker? Or maybe running…?
Also, I’ve never seen Woody Allen…
