Cake Shop will be soon be invaded by CMJ acts (including Marnie Stern, Jounce, Pepper Rabbit and more), but tonight at 7 p.m., the talk won’t be of upcoming bands, but rather of riot girrrl and Duran Duran. In the “Mixer Reading and Music Series,” hosted by Melissa Febos and Rebecca Keith, poet and visual artist Rachel Eliza Griffiths (Turn to Heaven), Sara Marcus (Girls to the Front: The True Story of the Riot Grrrl Revolution) and Rolling Stone‘s Rob Sheffield (Talking to Girls About Duran Duran) will read from their books, and there will also be a music set from Starring.
