New York City’s the Pains of Being Pure at Heart have finally announced that they’ll be releasing a new album in March of 2011. Granted, it hasn’t been that long since their self-titled debut came out (February 2009), and they’ve even released an EP, Higher Than the Stars, in that time, too. But their first album was one of our favorites of the year, and in this WE NEED MORE-era that we’re living in, when a new It band comes and goes every week, it’s tough waiting two years for a new album. Yeah, we’re spoiled.

To help the wait until March, the Pains are playing Brooklyn Vegan’s CMJ showcase on Thursday, Oct. 21, along with Screaming Females, Young Man, Suuns and the Blow (a great lineup). Tickets cost $20 and can be purchased here.
