Knitting Factory Picks the Best ’90s Halloween Episodes

Don’t forget, I’ve got bionic hearing

We’ve written before about the Knitting Factory’s TV Party! on Mondays, and tonight at 8 p.m. they’ve got a good one: the best Halloween episodes of the ’90s. According to the Factory’s website, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, The Simpsons and Saved by the Bell will be represented. But what else? Here’s what we’re hoping for:

“Halloween,” My So-Called Life

This one season masterpiece of a show took a typical sitcom premise for its Halloween episode—kids get locked in high school—but made it both creepy and depressing. Main character Angela Chase begins seeing a ghost while locked in said school, a ghost of a student who died in the 1960s because of a prank gone wrong. But don’t worry, we also get Rayanne dressed as a sexy vampire.

“Tricks and Treats,” Freaks and Geeks

Martin Starr’s Bill Haverchuck dressing up as the Bionic Woman? Yes, please.

“Halloween,” Buffy the Vampire Slayer

The Knitting Factory already did their best of Buffy series, but how can you have a ’90s Halloween TV party and not mention the episode where Ethan Rayne makes everyone in Sunnydale turn into their costumes, including Ghost Willow, Military Xander (which would come in handy in later seasons) and Noble Woman Buffy? That’s right, you can’t.

“Korn’s Groovy Pirate Ghost Mystery,” South Park

Funnier than “Spookyfish,” mainly because this episode features a guest appearance from Korn.

Any Halloween episode, Roseanne

They could do a whole evening just on Roseanne‘s Halloween episodes. You know how most shows have a special Christmas episode? Well, Roseanne did that, but for Halloween. There’s even a whole DVD collection dedicated to them.
