Three World War I veterans living in an old-soldiers’ home plot a new assault¯a trip to a stand of poplar trees in the distance. But should they bring the stone dog with them? Three Tony-nominated actors with three Tony Awards between them bring to life a comedy that author Gérald Sibleyras describes as “about the universal desire to escape the confines of life.”
