Hailed by The New York Times as “a brilliant blend of abstraction and realistic evocation,” Chapel/Chapter constructs an intimate relationship between the audience and the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company as it retells three stories—two of them high visibility news items, and the third a reminiscence/confession offered by a company member. This is a site specific work in which scintillating song, music, and words combine with the choreographer’s distinctive dance vocabulary to invite onlookers into the intimacy of a freely imagined contemplative space.
